A Century on State Street
The City Barber Shop opened its doors in 1926, one chair and a straight razor strop on a stretch of State Street that has seen Geneva grow up around it. Seventy-five of those years belonged to one family, the Perrones, who passed the trade down chair by chair, cut by cut.
New ownership has since taken over the shop, but little else has changed. The chairs are the same ones customers have sat in for decades. The standards are the same standards — a proper cut, a proper shave, and no reason to rush either one.
Today the shop still runs the way it always has: walk-ins welcome, regulars remembered, and a haircut treated like a craft instead of a transaction.
